The singer-songwriter is drawn to her, and constantly checks out the new beats. A lot of them inspire songs. "I'll be able to discern within 5 seconds whether it's a great beat. Once I've a tune in my mind, I will start writing straight away." My lyrics come to me when I'm on my deck, playing guitar. Usually it takes under thirty minutes. Niykee says that when she grows as a lyricist, the painful memories of her youth serve as source of inspiration. The pain I felt growing in my youth and that of losing my sibling are present in my lyrics even though they're not literal. My songs are inspired by my experiences and I am able to feel the deeper meaning underneath all of it. This is one of the things that is most crucial to me.
